BEST TIME TO VISIT

Your gateway to exploring the serene landscapes and rich culture of Bhutan.

Ideal Seasons to Visit Bhutan

The best time to visit Bhutan depends on your interests, climate preferences, festivals, and budget. Each season has its own charm and unique experiences.

Spring (March–May)

Spring offers pleasant weather and colorful landscapes. Rhododendrons, azaleas, and edelweiss bloom across the meadows. The Paro Festival also takes place during this time, adding a cultural touch to the beauty of the season.

Summer (June–August)

Warm weather and lush green valleys make summer appealing. However, monsoon rains can disrupt trekking. Western Bhutan (Paro, Thimphu, Punakha, Haa) usually sees only short showers, making sightseeing still possible.

Autumn (September–November)

After the monsoon, the air is clear, the scenery vibrant, and trekking is ideal. Farmlands turn golden, and festivals like Thimphu Tshechu and Jambay Lhakhang Drup attract visitors.

Winter (December–February)

Days are sunny and crisp, though evenings are cold. Main valleys remain accessible, and Phobjikha Valley hosts the migrating black-necked cranes. Winter is perfect for avoiding crowds and high costs.
