Arrive at Paro International Airport and meet your guide. Visit Rinpung Dzong and the traditional wooden bridge before continuing to Kyichu Lhakhang, one of Bhutan’s oldest temples. Experience rural Bhutanese life with a visit to a local farmhouse and enjoy an evening walk in Paro town.
Drive to Thimphu, stopping at Tachog Lhakhang and Chuzom, where the Paro and Thimphu rivers meet. Visit the Postal Museum, National Textile Museum, Folk Heritage Museum, and the School of Traditional Arts and Crafts. Later hike to Tango Monastery through peaceful forest trails.
Travel to Punakha via Dochula Pass (3,140 m) with spectacular Himalayan views and the famous 108 chortens. Visit Druk Wangyal Lhakhang, Chimi Lhakhang, and the magnificent Punakha Dzong. Hike to Khamsum Yulley Namgyal Chorten overlooking the valley.
Return to Thimphu and visit the Motithang Takin Preserve, home of Bhutan’s national animal. Explore Buddha Dordenma, Tashichho Dzong, and the National Memorial Chorten. Watch a traditional archery match and browse handicrafts at the Craft Bazaar.
Drive back to Paro and hike to the famous Tiger’s Nest Monastery (Paro Taktsang), dramatically perched on a cliffside. Enjoy stunning valley views and learn about the legend of Guru Rinpoche. Later visit the ruins of Drukgyel Dzong and relax with a traditional hot stone bath.
After breakfast, transfer to Paro International Airport for your onward journey. Farewell from your guide and the Kingdom of Bhutan.
