Arrive in Paro with spectacular Himalayan views during your flight. After airport formalities, visit Ta Dzong and Rinpung Dzong before driving to Thimphu along the scenic Pachu River. Enjoy your first evening in Bhutan’s capital city.
Explore Bhutan’s capital city with visits to the National Memorial Chorten, Changangkha Lhakhang, National Library, and Tashichho Dzong. If visiting during the weekend, stroll through the lively Thimphu Weekend Market filled with local produce and handicrafts.
Drive to Punakha via Dochula Pass (3,100m), famous for panoramic Himalayan views and the 108 chortens. Visit Punakha Dzong, one of Bhutan’s most beautiful fortresses, followed by Chhimi Lhakhang and Khamsum Yulley Namgyal Chorten.
Travel to the peaceful Phobjikha Valley, winter home of the rare black-necked cranes. Visit Gangtey Monastery and enjoy a walk along the scenic Gangtey Nature Trail through forests and open meadows. Overnight camping in the valley.
Drive back to Paro through Wangdue Valley and mountain forests of pine, spruce, and rhododendron. Stop at Dochula Pass and visit Tachog Lhakhang with its traditional iron chain bridge before arriving in Paro.
Hike to the iconic Tiger’s Nest Monastery (Paro Taktsang), perched dramatically on a cliff 900 meters above the valley floor. Learn about the legend of Guru Rinpoche and enjoy stunning panoramic views before visiting Drukgyel Dzong.
After breakfast, transfer to Paro International Airport for your onward journey. Farewell from your guide and the beautiful Kingdom of Bhutan.
